Hancock Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will have private well water testing kits available from Monday through Friday next week.
The program is provided in partnership with the National Center for Water Quality Research at Heidelberg University, Tiffin.
The date for the kits to be returned to the Soil & Water Conservation District is Aug. 26. The kits will then be delivered to Heidelberg and results will be mailed directly to participating individuals.
The test kits available are: nitrate/inorganic for $25; pesticide immunoassay screens for $60 and metals for $75. The SWCD will cost-share $5 on each test to help reduce the cost of each kit.
