FOSTORIA — Ralph A. Wagner Sr., 93, of Fostoria, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at his residence.
Ralph was born on Sept. 16, 1920 in Grafton, W.Va. to Walter D. and Jessie (South) Wagner. He married Emma Marie Ostrowsky on Jan. 16, 1942, and she died on Nov. 28, 2001.
Surviving are five sons, Ralph “Butch” (Jackie) Wagner Jr., Fort Collins, Colo.; Edward (Linda) Wagner, Findlay; Thomas and Craig (Lori) Wagner, both of Columbus; and Gary (Frances) Wagner, Bradenton, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife; a daughter, Kay Marie Wagner; two brothers, Charles and Robert Wagner; and two sisters, Lela Knepper and Dorothy Pressler.
Ralph retired in 1979 from Union Carbide Corp. with over 39 years of service. He was a WWII Army Veteran; a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria and a member of the Fostoria American Legion. He was also an avid golfer for many years.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Dr. Larry Knigga officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria with military honors conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
