coe georgeWEBGeorge Miles Coe, 78, of Findlay, formerly of Marysville and Fredericktown, went to Heaven on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
He was retired after 14 years as General Manager with Braun Industries, Inc. of Oakwood and formerly worked as a quality controller with J.B. Foote Foundry in Fredericktown. Employment before that was as an accountant at General Motors and as a controller at Huffman (Huffy). After his retirement, he was employed part-time as a sales associate at Lowe’s Inc., Lima.
He was a 1954 graduate of Union Local High School in Milford Center where he was active on the basketball team, in 4-H and FFA as well as the school’s music and drama programs. He graduated in 1965 from Bowling Green State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business. He served in the United States Army from 1960-1962 and was of the Methodist faith, Baptized April 30, 1968. He was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, a member of the Thrall Lodge, Fredericktown F&AM #170, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1980, Life Sponsor of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, a member of Clinton Commandery #5 Knights Templar, a member of Kinsman Council 76 Royal & Select Masons of Ohio, and Past High Priest of the Clinton Chapter Royal Arch Masons #10 in Mt. Vernon.
He enjoyed Ohio State sports, Reds baseball and any basketball games he could find on TV. He enjoyed woodworking, country and classical music, playing golf, eating at Red Lobster and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He believed it was important for family to take care of one another, to be generous and good to each other.
He was born April 11, 1936 in Milford Center, the only son to the late Loree and Rella Margaret “Peg” (George) Coe.
He is survived by a son, Kyle (Kelly) Coe of Findlay; a daughter, Kami (Jerry) Minor of Loves Park, IL; 3 grandsons, Kaleb Coe, Jimi Bennett and Garry Cress; a granddaughter, Kira Coe; 2 sisters, Elinor (John, Deceased) Adams of Woodstock and Virginia (Raymond) Leopard of Milford Center and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville, with Reverend Pam Connolly officiating. Burial will follow at Union Township Cemetery in Milford Center.
Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. by the Palestine Lodge #158 F&AM.
