long, richardWEBRichard Allen Long, 79, of Findlay, died at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at The Heritage in Findlay. He was born on April 16, 1935 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Hobart and Grace (Shafer) Long. On July 9, 1957, he married Lois Marie Cordell and she died on November 5, 2011.
He retired from Dow Chemical as an electronic technician and had also worked at Walmart for 15 years. Richard served in the United States Army, was a member of the Findlay Amvets, the Moose Lodge, had been a Boy Scout Leader for many years and the Findlay Boat Club.
He is survived by two sons: Barry Allen Long of Findlay and Richard Stephen Long of Somerset, Ky. as well as a daughter: Cheryl M. (Dennis) Grim of Kenosha, Wi. He has 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers: Robert and Jack Long and a sister: Eileen Boyce.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pastor Christopher Cravens will officiate, and burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
