streeterWEBGOMER — E. June Streeter, age 91, died at 9:00 a.m., March 23, 2016, at her home near Gomer, Ohio. She was born on January 11, 1925, in Vaughnsville, Ohio, to Willis R. and Ruth R. (Anderson) Dackin, both preceded her in death.
On January 22, 1950, she married Carl A. Streeter, who died on January 15, 2012.
Survivors include a son: David (Becky) Streeter of Gomer; three daughters: Carol (Terry) Turner of Goshen, Ohio, Diane (Vincent) Campbell of Atlanta, GA, and Linda Nichols (Kim DeVita) of Gomer; 11 grandchildren: Stephanie (Darian Thompson) Turner, Todd (Molly Fogelman) Turner, Kevin (Katie Borovich) Turner, Nate Turner; Abigail (Ruzbeh Nemat) Tate, Angela Tate, Nick Tate; Tony (Jarrah Cole) Streeter, Jennifer Nichols, Natasha (JJ Johnson) DeVita and Crystal DeVita; two great grandchildren: Aaron Hinds and Harper Goldschmidt; a brother: Gerald Dackin of Richmond, VA and a sister-in-law: Nola Streeter of Hillsboro, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Jessica Nichols; a brother-in-law: Ed Streeter and a sister-in-law: Marjorie Dackin.
Mrs. Streeter was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1943. She earned her R.N. degree from Lima Memorial School of Nursing. June had worked at Lima Memorial Hospital, did Private Duty Care in Arizona, and she retired from the Columbia Nursing Home, Lima, all while being a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She was a member of the Gomer Congregational Church, where she had been Financial Secretary for many years and a member of the FIDELIS, a ladies organization with the church.
She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, traveling and attending school and sporting events of all the grandchildren.
June liked to mow, take care of her garden and flowers, but her real joy was her family and the times she spent with them.
Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Gomer Congregational Church, Pastor Brian Knoderer will officiate. Burial will follow in Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer, Ohio.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, and from 12:00- 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gomer Congregational Church.
