ARLINGTON — Vera M. Musgrave, 94, of Arlington passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Sunrise of Findlay. She was born in Madison Township on February 18, 1923 to the late Charles and Cora (Boehm) Rossman. She married Darl Dean Musgrave on April 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1987.
Vera is survived by daughter: Christine (Keith) Beard of Arlington; five grandchildren: Corey Beard, Cyler Beard, Chayson Beard, Channa Beard, and Chloe Beard; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Beth Darlene; brothers: Donald G. and Gerald F. Rossman; and one grandchild, Cora Beth Beard.
Vera was a 1941 graduate of Arlington High School and a 1945 graduate of the University of Findlay. She was a teacher at Arlington High School and retired in 1985 after 33 years.
Vera was a member of the Hancock County Retired Teachers, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, the Division of Actively Retired Teachers, the Eagle Creek Historical Organization of Arlington, and the Children Hour Service League. She was a life long member of Good Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church and was on the board as well as volunteered at LMC and the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. She was on the tour committee of the Hancock Retired Teachers Association and was on the TEAC board at the Ohio Northern University Teacher Education Advisory Council.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Good Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington with Reverend Steve Ramsey Officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington as well as for one hour (9:30-10:30 a.m.) prior to the service at the church.
