Eloise A. “Ellie” Clymer, 86, of Findlay passed away at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her residence. Ellie was born in Pandora on August 22, 1931 to the late Ellis C. and Barbara A. (Zimmerly) Steiner. She married Robert G. Clymer on July 12, 1952 and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2014.
Ellie is survived by sons: Douglas E. (Candace) Clymer of South Lake Tahoe, CA and David R. Clymer of Kaneohe, HI; brothers: Bryon D. and Donald W. Steiner of Pandora, sister: Lois J. (Ervin) Regehr of Bakersfield, CA; and grandchildren: Travis and Nicole.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Winifred M. Core.
Ellie was a 1949 graduate of Pandora High School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University. She worked for Marathon, the Auto Club, and was a homemaker. Ellie was a very devout Christian and faith was very important to her. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and the Julia Circle at St. Andrew’s. Ellie was also a member of the Sewing Club, Pinochle Club, Mixed Pinochle Club, Ladies of the ELKs, and the Hi-Hat Red Hat Society. She was an extremely kind and giving person.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeffrey Motter officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay and for one hour (10:00-11:00am) prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank the many doctors and other health care workers who gave her great attention and care over the many years. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, Bridge Home Health and Hospice or Cancer Patient Services in her loving memory.
