LEIPSIC — Barbara Ann Leader, 76, of Leipsic, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at her home after a five-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Deshler, Ohio to the late Frank and Sara (Needles) Richard on March 6, 1941. On June 17, 1962 she married James Leader and he survives. Also surviving is a brother, Fred (Karen Dennis) Richard of Deshler; two sons, Michael (Susan Eash) Leader of Deshler, and Douglas (Molly Farley) Leader of Bowling Green; a daughter, Ann (Daniel) Eickmeier of Rome, New York; twelve grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy; paternal grandparents, Fred and Lulu (Adams) Richard; and maternal grandparents, John and Nelly (Kuhlman) Needles. She graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1959. She worked at Marathon Oil until becoming a wife, mother, and grandmother. She found great satisfaction in caring for her family. Her grandchildren voted her the best cook in the world. She attended St. John Mennonite Church in Pandora where she sang in the choir and taught children’s Sunday school class.
Her body was donated to the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
