DESHLER — Geraldine Sue Adams, 80, rural Deshler, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

She was born on March 4th in Centerburg, Ohio to the late Gerald E. Beam and Aldine Beam. She was very proud of her name as it was a combination of her Dad and Mom’s names. She married Roger Adams on June 22, 1958 and they were happily married for 59 years. She is survived by her husband Roger, son Rodney of Deshler, Ohio and daughter Debra (David) McCalla of Bowling Green, Ohio; her grandsons: Joshua (Stephanie) Barnhisel of Deshler and Jordan (Kara) Barnhisel of Bowling Green and 7 great-grandchildren: Noah, Peyton, Kolten, Maddox, Greyson, Sophia and Harper; step-grandsons: Chad (Sarah) McCalla of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Michael McCalla of Tiffin, Ohio; step-granddaughter Rachael (Matt) DeLauro, of Charlotte, North Carolina; step-great grandsons: Liam, Anderson and Nolan McCalla and Sam and Oliver Delauro. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, brother: James Robert Beam and Gerald “Ed” Beam and a sister: Dixie Barr. Geraldine was a retired teacher from McComb and Patrick Henry School districts and an avid sports fan. She followed the Panthers and the Patriots’ in Boys and Girls sports and enjoyed going to the state championships. Her college team was the Ohio State Buckeye football and basketball teams. Though she loved to watch football and basketball, she loved to play fast pitch softball. In her youth she pitched for Bowling Green State University.

Geraldine loved her family dearly and she talked about her “kids” (her students) throughout her life. She loved living the country life and telling stories of her first few adventures as a farm wife. She loved her Lord and Savior and spoke of the blessed healing water, precious water her last hours. She attended the Hoytville United Methodist Church.

Visitation for Geraldine will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr S, McComb, Ohio 45858. Geraldine’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Knollcrest Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be gifted in Geraldine’s honor to the Special Olympics, 1921 E Gypsy Ln Rd., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.
