Emerson R. Inbody, 99 of Findlay, died on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Bridge Hospice Care Center of Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born December 20, 1918 in Eagle Township, Hancock County to the late Frederick B. and Maude (Draper) Inbody. He married Anita Sherick on April 15, 1943 and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2018.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheryl (Barry) Wilson of Findlay and Linda (Donald) Steinman of Arlington; five grandchildren, Christopher Wilson of Columbus, Ohio, Jennifer Wilson of Chicago, Illinois, Kara (Emil) De Musz of Springfield, Ohio, Deron (Tabitha) Steinman of Arlington, Ohio and Eric (Sarah) Steinman of Findlay; great-grandchildren Kylie, Bryce, and Sophia Steinman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Marcille Inbody and brothers Carl, Royce and Fred E. Inbody.

Emerson graduated from Rawson High School in 1936 where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 and was stationed in the Philippines.

Emerson was a member of the Powell Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was a life-long grain and livestock farmer, raising and showing purebred Hampshire hogs. Emerson was a past president of the Hancock County Farm Bureau, Hancock County Pork Producers and Director of the Ohio Hampshire Swine Breeders. Emerson was also a former board member of the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation Service.

Emerson was a very devoted and loving husband and a kind and patient father. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

In retirement, he enjoyed over 30 years of wintering in Estero, Florida where he enjoyed fishing, shuffle board and playing cards.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Private family graveside services will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery.
