HOUCKTOWN — Virginia Joan Livingston, 87, of Houcktown, rural Arlingtown passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Primrose. She was born on April 5, 1931 to the late Kenneth and Rachael (Conine) Beucler. She married Carl E. Livingston on August 12, 1957 and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1989.
Virginia is survived by her son: Kenneth H. Livingston; her daughters: Elois A. (Timothy) Cramer of Forest and Elaine K. (Terry) Giles of rural Findlay; her sister: Barbara Fittro of Findlay; three grandchildren: Dustin (Kellie) Cramer, Ashley (Nick) Banbury, Andrew (Cassaundra) Giles; five great-grandchildren: Katelyn Cramer, Cameron Cramer, Carter Cramer, Rory Banbury, and Maedelyn Giles. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Leland Beucler and John Beucler; and her sister: Joellen Zoll.
Virginia graduated from Liberty High School in 1949 and then from Tiffin University. She was a member of Houcktown United Methodist Church where she was the treasurer and played the piano for many years. She was also very active in the United Methodist Women where she held many offices. She enjoyed cross stitch, gardening, sewing and quilting, crochet, and spending time with her family. Virginia worked for Blanchard Valley Co-op (Legacy) for 43 years and also volunteered at Blanchard Valley Hospital for 21 years. She served on the board for Blanchard Valley Industries. After retirement she played cards at 50 North.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. and an hour prior the to the service (1:00 – 2:00 p.m.) on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Pastor Al Schnipke will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Hancock County, 50 North, Houcktown United Methodist Church, and/or Gift of Dreams Bridge Home Health & Hospice.
