Charles W. Ellinwood, Sr., 92, of Findlay, passed away at 10:04 a.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Fox Run Manor. He was born in Findlay, Ohio on January 28, 1926 to the late Charles A. and Gladys Ellinwood. He married Lois Maxine “Maggie” DeLong on July 20, 1948, and she died on June 5, 2010.

He is survived by a son: Charles W. (Monica L.) Ellinwood Jr. of Arlington; siblings: Earl Ellinwood of Mass. and Gladys Coffman Ellinwood of Findlay; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings: Jack Ellinwood, Wayne Ellinwood, Wilma Holler, Janice Montgomery and Dorie Conrad.

He retired as a machinist at Atlas Corporation after having served in the Navy during World War II. He was a life member of the Findlay DAV and VFW.

He loved life and having fun which included fishing and going to garage sales.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay.

The funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Pastor David Shaffer will officiate and interment will follow, with full military rites conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
