Julia Louise Hanna, 95, of Findlay, passed away at 3:28 am on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Findlay.
She was born in Findlay on December 12, 1923 to the late John and Gertrude (Ernst) Karcher. On March 17, 1946 she married Frank A. Hanna and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1976.
Julia is survived by her sister-in-law, JoAnn Aller of Findlay, niece, Julie (Scott) Franklin of Findlay, nephew, John Joseph Karchar of Aurora, Colorado, great niece, Jessica Paige (Zac Schmidt) Franklin of Brooklyn, New York and great nephew, John Garrett Franklin of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Karcher. Julia retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1978 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxillary, the Findlay Ladies Shrine, the Order of the Easter Star and Telephone Pioneers. Julia was also a longtime member of College First Church of God. She was a needlepoint and crochet lover and enjoyed adventures through traveling and books.
Visitation for Julia will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME and for one hour (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.) Friday prior to the service.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor David Welker officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later time.
