What happened to the good old days when you could get the news coverage to start your day?

It seems to be “Death Valley Days” where CNN, MSNBC and the Fox networks all throw their propaganda to the people as well as against each other.

It’s just the same thing over and over again.

They simply don’t make news commentators like Walter Cronkite anymore. He gave the news to America and beyond, but left his opinion to himself.

I know that news commentators can get notorious for having a big ego. I can remember when Cronkite covered President John F. Kennedy’s funeral those four days, showing his emotional side.

During our past, there are very few people who could make a person listen to every word. Only three people could make you take notice: Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), Will Rogers and Cronkite.

There have been other great commentators, such as John Chancellor, Frank Reynolds, Chet Huntley, and David Brinkley, who would tell it like it is. They just presented the news without being prejudiced or biased.

Well, that’s all I got to say, except the last words Walter Cronkite said on his last newscast: “That’s the way it is on March 6, 1981.”

I read Dave Malone’s (March 11) letter lampooning Robert Dockery’s (March 6) letter defending Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y, who I understand is the youngest woman, or for that matter, person, ever elected to Congress.

One would think that alone would impress Dave, but did he offer any of his vaunted “salient points” on this remarkable accomplishment?

Why, of course not: his far-right counterpoint was to do what his ilk always do. He attacks her, which is even worse than being accosted (huh, Mike Janton?). David ridicules and insults and even tries to defame her by lambasting her as being an educated fool.

As to them tax breaks, it seems like Dave mixed them up with the Trumpster’s forms, as it was a $3 billion tax break for the richest man in the world, not a few million.

As far as Mr. Dockery having never encountered an educated fool: shucks, I’ll bet that Dave has never met Newt Gingrich, Lindsey Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitch McConnell, Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and last but not least, Donald John Trump, either.

Oh well, I sure hope that Dave holds his next dead cat swinging at the courthouse. That way I can read about how they locked him up.

These low hormonal Republicans are finally showing their true colors, from “snow Flake” to now “furry Bush” when it comes to the border wall and the national emergency declaration.

The only good thing is President Trump is still successfully doing great in spite of those traitors and the unsuccessful mind-changing Democrats.

In a few years, we might all be surprised by an uprising against all of these spineless characters.
