Sluggers outlast Clippers in extra innings

SLUGGERS 11CLIPPERS 10FINDLAY – The Flag City Sluggers tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning, then won it on a wild pitch in the tenth in outlasting Muskegon 11-10 on Tuesday in a Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League game at the Marathon Diamonds.Ty O'Brien singled leading off the last of the tenth and raced to third on a throwing error on Braden Sprague's sacrifice bunt. A wild pitch brought in the winning run that evened the Sluggers' record at 2-2. The Clippers are also 2-2 after four GLSCL games.Flag City trailed 10-8 heading into the bottom of the ninth but tied it with a two-out, two-run rally.William Barnes delivered an RBI double in the ninth, and Fostoria grad Trenten Smith followed with a clutch RBI single.Barnes (2-1B, 2B) and Micky Anderson (3-1B) had three hits each. Drew Tajblik (1B, 2B, RBI), O'Brien (2-1B, RBI), Atticus Huffstutler (2-1B, RBI) and Smith (2-1B, RBI) all had two.Aidan Murphy earned the pitching win, retiring Muskegon 1-2-3 in the top of the tenth.Cayden Nieto homered and drove in three runs for Muskegon.
