OHIO 1ATHENS – Flag City got excellent pitching for the second straight game and some rare long-ball offense as well in posting a 5-1 win over Southern Ohio on Tuesday in a Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League game at Bob Wren Stadium in Athens.Leo McEnulty started and went 7-2/3 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out nine. The 6-foot-3 right-hander, who pitches for Anderson University, was replaced with two on and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. Julius Robichaud got the final out of that inning, then struck out the side in the ninth to complete the victory.Southern Ohio took advantage of two Flag City errors to go up 1-0 in the second inning. Mickey Anderson erased that deficit when he blasted a three-run home run in the fourth. It was Anderson's first home run of the season, and the team's second.Drew Yajblik added an RBI double in the seventh inning and Atticus Huffstutler singled in a run in the eighth. Fostoria grad Trenten Smith lined three base hits and Anderson and Huffstutler had two each for the Sluggers, who evened their overall record at 5-5 with their second straight win.Southern Oho, which plays the Sluggers today at 6:05 p.m. at the Marathon Diamonds, absorbed its fifth straight loss and is 2-8.Flag City 000 300 110—5 11 2S.
