A puzzle race and Summer Connect this week at the library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library has some wonderful programs available the week of June 21-27, 2026: Register at findlaylibrary.org/events to experience our Puzzle Race on June 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Teams will race against each other to complete a 500-piece glow-in-the-dark dinosaur puzzle. The fastest team to finish their puzzle will be crowned the puzzle race champions! The first and second place teams will receive a prize. Only seven teams may compete in the puzzle race. All teams must have at least 2 participants with a maximum of 4 and have decided upon a name for their team prior to the event. Get ready for some fast-paced fun! Whether you have a passion for a specific charity or you're beginning to think about leaving a legacy – please join James Powell from Edward Jones for a discussion on Charitable Giving and Your Financial Strategy on Monday, June 22 at 6 p.m. in the Younger Room. June 23 in the Lindamood Room at 9:30 a.m. and June 25 at 10 a.m. at the Waterfalls Pavilion at Riverside Park, join the library for Storytime. Sing, rhyme, and read, then craft and enjoy activities together. Your child will have so much fun they might not even realize they are learning important skills for future reading! This week's theme is I Dig Shapes. Summer Connect continues this week on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Northview Primary, 133 Lexington Avenue and again on Thursday at 10 a.m. YMCA, 300 E. Lincoln Street. We're joining other community organizations for a day of fun, games, and exciting activities. Plus, kids can take home free books. Come connect, play, and explore! Makerspace for kids is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. This week, we'll be working with air dry clay. Air dry clay is a versatile, beginner-friendly modeling material that hardens at room temperature without the need for an oven or kiln. Don't miss the creative fun! Join in virtually on June 23 at 2 p.m. to chat with Sana Javeri Kadri and Asha Loupy about The Diaspora Spice Co. Cookbook, which celebrates beautiful, simple, and seasonal cooking with 85 recipes adapted from India and Sri Lanka's best family spice farms. This program is presented in partnership with the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. Put your knowledge to the test at Teen Trivia Night on Tuesday, June 23 at 4:30 p.m. Join the library for an evening of fast-paced questions, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs. From pop culture and music to random facts and brain teasers, there's something for everyone. Bring your friends or come solo and team up—either way, get ready for a fun night you won't want to miss! This program is for teens in grades 6 – 12. Space is limited and registration is required at findlaylibrary.org/events. Mini Meet-Up is scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Early Literacy Center in the Children's Department. Little ones can explore new games, toys and activities that are educational and fun while socializing and making new friends. Starter Storytime at the library will take place on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Lindamood Room, and Friday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at the Waterfalls Pavilion at Riverside Park. Sing, rhyme, read, and have fun with scarves and instruments. This program is designed to foster a love of reading while developing early literacy skills. This week's theme is Hancock Parks: Fins, Feathers, & Fur. Storytime is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Arlington Branch, located at 232 North Main Street in Arlington. This week, learn more about Ohio wildlife with Fur, Feathers, and Scales! Explore bird feathers, coyote furs, snakeskins, and turtle shells with the Hancock Park District during Storytime, located at the Arlington Branch Library. Learn more about animal skins, patterns, and colors while a naturalist reads a special story. Then stick around for a themed craft and tailored activities. Your child will have so much fun they might not even realize they are learning important skills for future reading! Tween Drawing Club takes place on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Join in for art projects and hang out with other young artists. This month will be painting kindness rocks with staff from the Family Resource Center and exploring ways to spread kindness. This program is designed for children in grades 2-8. Children 8 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
