UF campaign raises nearly $95 million FINDLAY — The University of Findlay's Together We Will campaign has concluded, having raised a total of $94,826,392. The campaign began seven years ago with a goal to raise $75 million. It concluded July 31. "We could not be more grateful to our loyal Oiler alumni and friends whose generosity has set a new campus record in philanthropy, coming together to push us 26% beyond our goal," said Kenneth McIntyre Jr., vice president of university advancement. "Donor support has touched every corner of campus and makes a difference for every Oiler student." Gifts were made by 11,466 donors, coming from all 50 states and 18 countries, McIntyre noted, adding that 37% of donors are UF alumni, 61% of donors live in Ohio, and 20% live in Hancock County. During the seven-year campaign, 76,551 individual gifts were made, which averages out to 30 gifts each day. McIntyre pointed out that a majority of the gifts made – 59,141 – were less than $100, adding that "every gift – no matter the amount – always make a difference. Together we are changing the future at the University of Findlay." In addition to operating support of $30,333,067, donors also funded $21,956,344 in scholarships. 50 songs for America 250 BLUFFTON — John Jantzen and Wendy Chappell-Dick learned 50 songs to celebrate America 250. These selections range from music popular in colonial times up to the Civil War. Included are songs of immigrants, Native Americans and African American slaves, as well as hymns and courtin' tunes, all accompanied by dulcimer, guitar and spoons. The 50 songs will be performed in three parts starting Thursday, when the performers are joined by Monica Harnish on fiddle and Jan Wiebe playing the whistle. Part two will be held Sept. 17, with the third part on Oct. 15. Each concert will be held from 6:30-7:15 p.m. on the main floor of the Bluffton Public Library. The duo will perform for Bluffton's Play Music on the Porch Day Aug. 29. The first part will be on the Cox porch at 341 S. Main St. from noon to 12:45 p.m. A performance of the second part of the songs will be from 5-5:45 p.m. on Vine Street. Jantzen and Chappell-Dick will also play at 10 a.m. Sept. 26 for the Fall Festival at the Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Road.
