Excel and Finance Fridays this week at the library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is offering the following programs August 23 - 29, 2026: Monday at 5 p.m. in the Lindamood Room, learn the basics of Microsoft Excel through making your own spreadsheet to track your reading. This hour-long class will walk you through navigating the program, basic formatting, how to use tables, and some of the most useful formulas. By the end you will have a basic Book Tracker and the skills to make your own budget and more. Please bring your own laptop with Microsoft Excel installed. We will not have laptops available for use. If you would like to come and listen without following along, feel free, but this program is intended to be hands-on. This program is designed for adults. Join the library in virtual conversation on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with biologist, Beronda Montgomery, as we discuss her book, When Trees Testify: Science, Wisdom, History, and America's Black Botanical Legacy. Mini Meet-up takes place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and Friday in the Early Literacy Center in the Children's Department. This is a free playtime opportunity for little ones to socialize and explore new games, toys, and activities that are educational and fun while meeting other families. This program is for infants to 36 months with their caregivers. Join the library for a fun and creative crafting session, CrafterWork, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Join the library for a thrilling virtual conversation with acclaimed author Lucy Foley on Thursday at 2 p.m. delve into her brand-new Miss Marple mystery, Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel. During the live event, there will be a link below the video for viewers to enter into a drawing to win a copy of the book!
