Local Red Cross lead deploying to southern Ohio

FINDLAY — Todd James, executive director of the American Red Cross of North Central Ohio, is joining the ongoing Red Cross disaster relief operation in southern Ohio. In the two weeks since devastating floods and storms impacted hundreds of families across the Central and Southern Ohio regions, more than 120 Red Cross-trained disaster workers have flocked to the areas to provide safe shelter, access to food, basic health services and emotional support, including over 830 overnight shelter stays, more than 16,300 meals and snacks, relief items to over 300 households. Volunteers also continue to provide support through families' recovery process. James will be serving as public affairs manager, overseeing efforts to communicate vital information on services available to families and communities. This is James' 44th disaster relief assignment since joining the agency.
