Freed Center announces 35th season

ADA — The Freed Center for the Performing Arts at Ohio Northern University has announced its full slate of theatre, dance and music events for its 35th season. The season begins with The Pulse featuring the Maryland-based dance company SOLE Defined with the ONU Dance Company at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. This percussive dance company has toured nationally and internationally, with performances and engagements at The Kennedy Center, Jacob's Pillow, The Smithsonian and throughout Italy, Uganda and Mexico. The 2026-27 season continues with the following events. Oct. 1-4: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a Tony-Award-winning musical comedy Oct. 18: Latin Rhythms by the ONU Orchestra welcoming guest artist Patricio Cosentino, tuba Oct. 22-25: Radium Girls, a fast-paced stage play Nov. 1: ONU Band-O-Rama: America 250 featuring the ONU Marching Band's halftime shows celebrating the Nation's 250th birthday Nov. 19-21: The ONU Holiday Spectacular at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts Dec. 4-6: The ONU Holiday Spectacular at Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center, Lima Dec. 10: ONU Orchestra and Choral Holiday Concert Feb. 6-7: Art In Motion dance concert where advanced technology amplifies the beauty of dance Feb. 18-21: 17th International Play Festival: Indigenous America celebrating contemporary Native, First Nations and Indigenous voices March 21: Feelin' the Spirit with the ONU Symphonic Band's performance of exciting and uplifting melodies, driving rhythms and pure emotion April 15-18: Sweet Charity, an exuberant, groovy, hilarious musical comedy April 25: American Sounds by the ONU Orchestra featuring Dean Altstaetter on Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue May 2: 50th ONU Spring Band Festival featuring the ONU Symphonic Band and Ohio High School All-State Honors Band Flexible season subscriptions are now available for purchase through the Pick 2, 4 or 8 packages, which allow patrons to build their subscription the way they want and save up to 20% off single ticket prices while securing the best seats. The ONU Holiday Spectacular is not eligible for the season subscriptions, but subscribers can purchase tickets early for this popular event as an add-on to their subscription order. Single tickets are also available to purchase for all events, with the exception of the Ada performances of The ONU Holiday Spectacular, which go on sale Oct. 7.
