Rettig Furniture & Mattress receives national honor

FINDLAY — Rettig Furniture & Mattress has earned national recognition as one of America's Best Small Family-Owned Furniture Stores, being selected by Furniture Today for inclusion in its Beyond the Top 100 – 2026 list. Published annually by Furniture Today, a furniture industry business publication, the Beyond the Top 100 list recognizes independent furniture retailers across the United States that have a significant impact on both their local communities and the home furnishings industry. Rettig Furniture & Mattress was one of just 44 independent retailers nationwide selected for this year's list. Collectively, the honored companies represent more than 3,000 years in business, operate 83 stores across 26 states, and are recognized their exceptional customer service, business performance, and commitment to their communities. Founded in 1981, Rettig Furniture & Mattress has served Findlay and Northwest Ohio for more than four decades. The family-owned company operates a 62,000-square-foot showroom offering furniture, mattresses, lighting, and home décor from many of American manufacturers. According to Furniture Today, Rettig Furniture & Mattress achieved 17% same-store sales growth in 2025, while maintaining strong inventory performance and offering customers both in-store and online shopping. The company features dedicated galleries from leading brands including La-Z-Boy, Flexsteel, Mavin, Serta, and Tempur-Pedic, along with popular collections from England, Homestretch, Vaughan-Bassett, Liberty, Riverside, Amish Originals and more. "We're incredibly honored to receive this national recognition," said Tony Rettig, owner of Rettig Furniture & Mattress. "As a family-owned business, we've always believed that treating customers like neighbors and providing exceptional products with outstanding service is the foundation of everything we do. This recognition belongs to our dedicated employees, our loyal customers, and the community that has supported us for more than 40 years." The recognition reflects Rettig Furniture & Mattress's continued investment in serving Northwest Ohio while remaining committed to the values that have guided the company since its founding—integrity, personal service, and helping families create comfortable homes. "This honor reinforces that independent, family-owned businesses can compete and thrive by focusing on customer relationships and community involvement," Rettig added. "We're grateful to everyone who has trusted us with their homes and look forward to serving the region for many years to come."
