North Baltimore levy approved

NORTH BALTIMORE — Hancock and Wood County voters have approved the levy renewal for the North Baltimore Local School District as of unofficial Tuesday night results. The district asked for the renewal of a 1% levy to help fund its everyday operating expenses. The current levy does not expire until 2027, though district leadership has said an early renewal would help the district make thoughtful financial decisions for the future. A total of 752 Wood County voters approved the renewal, representing 61% of the vote, and 489 voters were against the tax. In Hancock County, only three voters approved the tax, but two voters were against it. "We are extremely appreciative of the support the North Baltimore community has provided our schools over the years," Ryan Delaney, district superintendent, said. "We take the responsibility of being good stewards of taxpayer dollars very seriously and we will continue working hard to provide our students with the best educational opportunities possible."
