Old named to state committee

PERKINS TWP. — Erie County Commissioner Matt Old was appointed as chair of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio's solid waste subcommittee.The subcommittee is part of the state association's jobs, economic development and infrastructure committee. It provides a space for commissioners, council members and affiliates to discuss solid waste policy and helps the association communicate its thoughts to the Ohio EPA and the Ohio General Assembly."I am excited to chair this subcommittee as we work to address county's issues and needs regarding solid waste and create a cleaner Ohio," Old said.The state association advances effective county government for Ohio through legislative advocacy; education and training; technical assistance and research; quality enterprise service programs and greater citizen awareness; and understanding of county government."Commissioner Old is dedicated member of (the state association) and is committed to improving the quality of life of the people he serves," said Rachel Massoud, the state association's policy analyst and subcommittee liaison.
