Findlay boys golf best round of season, take seventh in Medina

MEDINA — Three Findlay High golfers broke 80 and the Trojans posted their best round of the season in placing seventh on Wednesday in the Walker Jones Tournament held at the Shale Creek Golf Club in Medina. Nick Feighner carded a 2-over-par 74, Justin Hartman was one stroke back at 75 and Zach Harris shot a 79. Grant Lane and Sam Crawford both fired 82s. Findlay's 310 team total was nine shots better than their previous low, a 319 posted in the second event of the season, the Knight Invitational at Heatherdowns Golf Club in Toledo. Stow won the tournament with a 293 team total. Massillon Jackson won a fifth-man playoff over Canton Central Catholic to claim runner-up honors after both teams turned in 301s. Walsh was fourth at 302 in a highly competitive field. Toledo St. John's was 13th at 324. Justy VonLehmden carded a 77 and Henry Rill fired an 83. Dull leads Lakota BOWLING GREEN — Led by Kyleigh Dull's 78, Lakota finished fourth on Wednesday in the Woodmore Wildcat Invitational played at Bowling Green's Stone Ridge Golf Club. Dull, Ohio's Division II state girls champion last season, carded a 1-over 37 on the back nine. Connor Hill posted an 84, Jayden Bonnell an 89 and Carson Hill a 94 for Lakota's 348 team total. Pettisville outdistanced the field with a tournament-winning 318 scoe. Margaretta (340) edged Woodmore (344) and Lakota for runner-up honors. Old Fort was sixth (359), Bluffton eighth (367), New Riegel 11th (390), Hopewell-Loudon 12th and Carey 14th in the 15-school field. Dull was fifth in the medalist standings.
