Cedar Point reservations return

SANDUSKY — Cedar Point has brought back its reservation service for park visits. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when the park first opened in July, it required people to reserve a time to show up to avoid crowds forming at the health screening entrance. A few weeks later, the park ended the reservation service after it said it didn't need the service to maintain social distancing when people arrived. But Cedar Point announced starting Saturday, the reservation service would return, and people would need to schedule an arrival time before coming to the park. The change is likely due to an increase in visitation during the fall. The pandemic forced the park to cancel the popular HalloWeekends this year. But they replaced it with the Tricks and Treats Fall Fest, which has drawn crowds to the park each weekend. The festival offers unique food, costume contests, trick or treating stations and more Halloween fun while maintaining the health and safety protocols the park put in place. Last weekend lines stretched out from outside the health screening tent and each ticket booth. Cedar Point is open noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
