Associated Charities donates to non-profits

Associated Charities has distributed a total of $65,000 in grants to five local non-profit organizations. Recipients and grant totals include: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health), $20,000; Christian Clearing House, $25,000; Habitat for Humanity, $5,000; Soroptimist International of Hancock County, $3,000; and City Mission, $12,000. "The Associated Charities Board of Directors is honored to be able to support these organizations who provide critical assistance to those in need within our community. Their ability to continue to do good work has been severely impacted by financial struggles brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Kurt Ebersole, board chairperson. The organization's main mission is to provide financial assistance to individuals and families within Hancock County throughout the year to help with basic living costs including rent, utilities and medical costs. When additional funds are available, the board may approve grants that assist local non-profit agencies. Hancock County-based non-profits may contact Associated Charities at 419-423-2021 to obtain a grant request form. Since its establishment in 1914, Associated Charities has provided $7.5 million in aid to over 100,000 individuals and families in need in Hancock County.
