BVC Aktion Club creates lending library

Aktion Club members from Blanchard Valley Center recently built and erected a lending library at Emory Adams Park in Findlay. The box will be filled with books that anyone can borrow. Users are also encouraged to leave a book for other readers. Aktion Club members began working on the project in November 2019. They worked with Findlay's Public Works Superintendent Matt Stoffel to identify the best location for the library and chose Emory Adams Park, 1827 S. Blanchard St. Aktion Club members built the lending library as a team effort. Devin Gallegos created the designs on the box and helped set it in place. Mark DeVault donated the materials, and Blanchard Valley Center's Jeff Hanna assisted with the project. "The lending library is free and accessible to the public," said BVC Advocacy Coordinator Danielle Collins. "It will be available anyone who visits the park and wants to read during their visit or chooses to take a book home." Aktion Club will be responsible for keeping the area looking nice and keeping the library full. Book donations can be accepted at the lending library or by dropping them off at BVC, 1700 E. Sandusky St., in care of Danielle.
