Carey staple moving to Upper Sandusky

UPPER SANDUSKY — Kimmel Corp., Upper Sandusky, has purchased the apparel business operated as Kurtz Family Store and plans to relocate the Carey business, effective Jan. 1. According to a news release, all Kurtz Family Store sales and service will be conducted from 214 N. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, which is owned by Kimmel Corp. The new store will be located across the street from Kimmel Corp., 225 N. Sandusky Ave. Established in 1952, the Kurtz store, which previously included shoes, has been a staple in Carey and throughout the surrounding communities. "I have had the pleasure of taking over my grandfather's and aunt's business as well as managing it for three years," said Sarah Schutt, managing owner of Kurtz Family Store. "There have been many changes over the last seven decades and now it's time for one more. Due to the similar nature of our respective businesses, and our visions for growth, I am excited to join Kimmel's. While my location is changing, I will continue to provide great service to area businesses, clients and customers." "We are excited to enter into the team apparel market," said Brian Kimmel. "The store space will allow for a broad selection of garments to support many local teams while providing plenty of room for processing large volume orders. This will complement our growing corporate apparel division, as we have the ability to build user-friendly programs for companies and school systems."
