14-SUB HEAD) FHS gymnasts second HAMLER – Emmy Omlor (32.45), Poppy Link (32.25) and Olivia Laird (30.65) finished fifth, sixth and eighth in the all-around standings on Saturday when Findlay High's gymnastics team placed second in a seven-team meet hosted by and held at Patrick Henry. Omlor and teammate Emma Mitani doubled up in two events, tying for seventh place in floor exercises (8.9) and for tenth in the vault (7.85). Omlor was ninth on beam (8.1) and tenth on bars (7.6). Link placed seventh on bars (8.10). (14-SUB HEAD) UF's Kin named University of Findlay junior Sydney Kin has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week after averaging a double-double over three games. Kin, a Carey grad, had 30 points and a career-high 19 rebounds in UF's 94-77 loss to Ohio Dominican, 25 points and eight rebounds in an 80-72 win over Malone and 31 points and 14 rebounds in a 92-84 overtime win over Walsh. UF also announced on Monday that Thursday's women's game at Tiffin has been postponed. (14-SUB HEAD) Yants wins No. 200 OTTAWA – Ottawa-Glandorf girls basketball coach Troy Yant achieved a career milestone on Monday when the Titans beat Elida 60-27 to earn him his 200th victory. O-G went 16-9 in 2012-13, Yant's first season as head coach. The Titans have won at least 22 games every year since under Yant, who has compiled a 200-27 overall record in just nine years. Yant guided O-G to the girls state tournament four straight years (2014-15 through 2017-18). Monday's win boosted O-G's record to 11-1, 4-1 in the Western Buckeye League. (14-SUB HEAD) Shawnee tops O-G OTTAWA – Lima Shawnee's Solomon Smith (237-245) rolled a 483 series and Myles Aldrich (207-230) had a 437 as the Indians beat Ottawa-Glandorf 2,755-2,633 in Western Buckeye League match. Jake Fawcett led O-G with a 166-243—409 total. Shawnee also won the girls matchup, 2,112-1,884. Jaydyn Johns led O-G with a 264 series.
