Findlay company honored for innovation research

Endurica, in Findlay, which offers engineering solutions for rubber: durability simulation software, testing, fatigue test instruments and training, has received the 2020 United States Small Business Administration (SBA) Tibbetts Award. The award recognizes companies that best exemplify the spirit and intent of the SBA's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. Of 38 companies recognized nationally this year, Endurica is the only Ohio-based recipient and the only firm specializing in the rubber industry. Endurica serves industry sectors such as defense, transportation, heavy equipment, offshore, medical devices and consumer products. "I am very proud to receive this prestigious recognition on behalf of our team. We won the U.S. Army as our first paying customer through the SBIR program, and this enabled us to commercialize game-changing tools for analyzing the fatigue performance of elastomers. Over the last decade, we've continued to improve our tools and the business," said William Mars, company president. "Today, we have a growing user base, six of the top 12 global rubber product producers (by revenue) are using Endurica solutions in their applications, and there are hundreds of trained users globally." Endurica's tools and workflows are used by original equipment manufacturers, by rubber part suppliers and by raw materials suppliers. "The Tibbetts Award is reserved for the best of the best in technology research and development, and Dr. William Mars and his team at Endurica embody the entrepreneurial spirit and scientific excellence that this award represents," said SBA Central and Southern Ohio District Director Everett M. Woodel Jr.
