Church bells will ring Tuesday as reminder to pray

Church bells will ring at 10 a.m. Tuesday as people across the county prayerfully — and separately — join to ask for God "to bless and heal our country from the COVID-19 virus," according to information from St. Paul's United Methodist Church. The bells, rung from churches across the Findlay area, will remind people to pause and spend a little time in prayer. "We will also be asking for God's protection and healing of our government during these turbulent times so that we might truly become one nation under God," the church wrote. The Findlay Day of Prayer for America is being organized by the church, located at 218 E. Sandusky St. "While we know God listens at any time, there is a blessing when we pray together. While we will not be gathering to pray, our prayers will be joined," the news release states. "Of course prayers can continue at any time throughout the day as we focus on prayer for our country to call upon God for healing." "We suggest asking God for healing our country in two ways: First, one might pray in terms of relief from the pandemic and strength for those who are ill or grieving; and the second healing we might ask is for our government. One might ask God to heal and protect our land, that calm and peace will cover our country. We could ask for our leaders and our countrymen be led by Godly wisdom in their actions, words, and interactions. And one might pray that God will work his hand in the hearts of all of our countrymen during these turbulent times and make us truly one nation under God."
