Jeanne L. (Waters) Schindler

Jeanne Louise (Waters) Schindler of Sammamish, WA, passed away on Saturday March 13, 2021, aged 70, after a valiant battle with cancer. Jeanne was the daughter of John and Florence Waters, and was raised in the communities of Levittown and Deer Park, NY, graduating from Deer Park High School in 1969. Jeanne then attended the University of Toledo in Ohio, where she met her beloved husband, Greg Schindler, and graduated with a BA Degree in Education in 1973. Jeanne and Greg were married in 1975, and resided in Cincinnati, OH, until moving to the Seattle, WA, area in 1979. Jeanne attended University of Washington, earning a Master of Education degree, with an emphasis in Special Education. Thereafter, Jeanne taught middle school and junior high special education students at Maywood Middle School in Issaquah, WA, and at Kenmore Jr. High, in Kenmore, WA. In her career of over 22 years, Jeanne had the pleasure and opportunity to mentor, guide and nurture many students with special needs. Jeanne and Greg recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. During the years they lived in the Seattle area, they resided in the communities of Bellevue, Juanita, and, for the past 28 years, in Sammamish. Jeanne was a talented and avid gardener, beautifying their backyard garden with a plethora of colorful plants. Her garden was Jeanne's happy place. Jeanne was a great dog lover and cherished their beloved pets Lobo, Choo, and Hallie. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Greg; her brother, John Waters Jr., Deer Park, NY; sister, Lillian Waters, Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law, Beth Lab, Cincinnati, OH; mother-in- law, Mary Schindler, Findlay, OH; nieces, Kristen Kammeier, Lindsay Kammeier Neumayr, Jennifer Waters, and nephew, Scott Lab. No services are planned. Her wishes are that in lieu of flowers, tributes and remembrances may be made by donations to Seattle Humane Society, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, My Village Northwest or a charity of your choice.
