Findlay ex-coach charged with sex crimes

Former Findlay High Football Assistant Coach Devon M. Hohman, 28, was charged last week in Perrysburg with felony counts of importuning and disseminating material harmful to a teenager. Hohman, of 152 Northcliff Drive, was an assistant coach on offense for Findlay High's football team last fall, but has not served with Findlay schools in any other capacity, the district reported Tuesday. He was charged following an incident at 6:15 p.m. April 1 at Holiday Inn Express, 12710 Roachton Road, Perrysburg. "Devon Hohman agreed to meet with an undercover officer who was posing as a 14-year-old male and was subsequently arrested for importuning and disseminating harmful material to a juvenile," a report from the Perrysburg Police Department states. In the importuning charge, Hohman is alleged to have solicited a teenager to engage in sexual conduct with him, Perrysburg Municipal Court records state. In the disseminating material harmful to juveniles, he is alleged to have directly offered to sell, furnish or provide to a juvenile, or an officer posing as a juvenile, material that is obscene or harmful to a juvenile, Perrysburg Municipal Court records state. Both charges are considered fifth-degree felonies. Hohman faces a preliminary hearing in Perrysburg Municipal Court on Tuesday.
