FHS' Adams second team all-Ohio, Roth honorable mention

COLUMBUS — A.J. Adams, who etched his name in several categories of the Findlay High record books before announcing recently he would be taking his considerable talents to the University of Findlay, capped an outstanding career by earning second-team honors in the 2020-21 Division I all-Ohio boys basketball selections as determined by a panel of representatives of the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association and released through that organization on Tuesday.A 6-foot-5 forward, Adams averaged 16.4 points a game in leading Findlay, 15-3, to a share of its first Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball title since the 2011-12 season. He also led the Trojans in blocked shots (28) and was second on the team in everything from rebounds (109, 6.1 rpg) to assists (56, 3.1 apg) to steals (34, 1.9 spg).Adams was the TRAC Player of the Year and Division I co-Player of the Year in the Northwest District.A three-year starter and four-year letter winner, Adams is third on the school's career scoring list with 1,127 points. He also has 491 career rebounds and 217 career assists and is the only player in FHS history to achieve a 1,000-point, 400-rebound, 200-assist plateau.
