Lavelle dealing again as Findlay runs over Ross

FREMONT — Findlay's Nicolas Lavelle didn't match the no-hitter he threw a week ago. But the senior right-hander gutted through five tough innings, walking six batters, beaning two others, but allowing just one base hit in the Trojans' 13-3 win over Fremont Ross.Lavelle, almost perfect in a 13-0 no-hit win over Toledo Whitmer a week ago, improved his record to 5-0 and Findlay's to 14-4. The Trojans are 5-2 in league play.Lavelle got plenty of offensive support with Findlay sending 13 batters to the plate in the first inning and scoring seven runs. RIVERDALE 4 PANDORA-GILBOA 3 PANDORA – Luke Morris' two-out single in the top of the seventh broke Riverdale's tie with Pandora-Gilboa, and sent the Falcons on to a 4-3 win. With the score tied at 3 in the top of the seventh, Alex Russler got a one-out base hit. Spencer Dodds bunted him to second, and then the Rockets opted to intentionally walk Andrew Kuenzli. That brought up Morris, whose single to center scored Russler with the winning run. Russler had two base hits and scored two runs, while Dodds, Kuenzli and Morris each singled and drove in a run for the Falcons. Kuenzli threw a complete game four-hitter, allowing three runs, none of which were earned. He improved to 5-2. The win moved the Falcons to 10-5, 6-1 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. The BVC mark tied Riverdale for first with Liberty-Benton, which topped Arlington Monday. It's Riverdale's best start since joining the BVC in 2011. Pandora-Gilboa's Ryan Johnson singled and drove in two runs, while Eli Huffman had a pair of singles. Johnson pitched the first three innings, allowing three unearned runs. Andrew Meyer took the loss in relief. Pandora-Gilboa fell to 7-4, 3-1.
