FCS treasurer search expands

The field of candidates for Findlay City Schools' next treasurer just got wider. The city school board, which met in a special session on Wednesday, has agreed to add one more candidate to its list of prospects. Pamela Harrington, of Findlay, the current treasurer and chief financial officer of Perrysburg Exempted Village, has been identified as a finalist, FCS Superintendent Troy Roth said Thursday. Harrington has served as treasurer in for Perrysburg Schools since 2016, and prior to that served as treasurer for Defiance City and Otsego schools. Harrington is a former employee of Findlay schools, and at one time served as the district's Education Management Information System coordinator. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Findlay in business management, majoring in finance and technology. In March, the board announced a field of three candidates being considered for the post, including Lori Davis, treasurer of the Wayne Trace School District; Brad Deleruyelle, treasurer of the Pandora-Gilboa School District; and Sean Swisher, assistant treasurer for FCS. Jude Hammond is currently serving as interim treasurer for the school district, through July 31. He was first hired as a financial consultant by the school board in October, to assist the district following the resignation of former treasurer Mike Barnhart. Barnhart, who served as the district's treasurer for 15 years, resigned in November after accepting the same position with Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools in Lorain County.
