John L. (Jack) Thomas

John L. (Jack) Thomas was born in Findlay, Ohio, on March 9, 1926, to J. Lester and Marjory (Mann) Thomas. He is survived by Mildred (Midge) Lybarger his wife of 72 years and 2 children, Jayne Workman (Naples, FL) and Tom (Mary Beth) Thomas (Phoenix, AZ), daughter in law, Liz Thomas Clinger (Findlay, OH), three grandchildren, Kate Workman (NYC), Sarah Thomas (Nashville, TN), and Nicholas Thomas, Cincinnati, OH. His son, Jim Thomas, predeceased him. His sister, Mrs. Walter (Jean) Hane lives in Evergreen, CO. Jack served in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII, graduated from the Ohio State University in 1949 and joined his father in the family business, Thomas Jewelers. He was a Registered Jeweler in the American Gem Society. He was past president of the Ohio Jewelers Assn., the Ohio Guild of the American Gem Society, Jewelers Data Processing Inc., Blanchard Valley Hospital Assn., Findlay Camp Fire Girls and Findlay Downtown Area Assn. He served on the board of Jewelers of America, American Gem Society, Hancock Savings and Loan Assn., Chamber of Commerce, Community Development Foundation, Hancock Regional Planning Commission and Associated Charities. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Findlay, OH, First United Methodist Church of Naples FL, Naples Rotary club, Elks Club and Stumps International.
