Bluffton library books July programs

BLUFFTON — Programs for all ages are being offered in July at the Bluffton Public Library. Livestream with llamas will be offered at 10 a.m. July 8 when the Hard Rock Llama Co. goes live on its Facebook page with an educational program. The library will share the stream on its social media, and patrons are encouraged to ask questions about the llamas. The next "Origami Live!" program featuring Mai Hirashita, Japanese outreach initiative coordinator for Bowling Green State University, will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 13. The Zoom program is open to all ages. An origami paper take-and-make kit is available while supplies last. Email psc@blufftonpubliclibrary.org to register and receive the Zoom link. A virtual family trivia night will be held at 6 p.m. July 15 using Kahoot and Zoom. Family groups may consist of six members or fewer, and questions are family friendly. Teens interested in helping the library by making reading lists, writing reviews and suggesting materials and programs are invited to join the staff for a virtual Teen Advisory Group meeting at 2 p.m. July 21. This will be a discussion about how the library can help support area teens. Register at pr@blufftonpubliclibrary.org Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District naturalist Daniel Hodges will present "Tails and Tales Live," talking about the animal kingdom, at 11:30 a.m. July 22. The library will provide tweens and teens in grades 6-12 with themed craft kits available for pickup the week of July 26. Then join staff via Zoom to create the kit and share your creation. Space is limited. To register, call or email pr@blufftonpubliclibrary.org A mobile health clinic visit will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. July 30. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. The clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, with fasting required for the cholesterol and blood sugar screening. Participants may speak with students and staff about their results or concerns, and receive referrals to area doctors. COVID-19 vaccinations are not available at these clinics. An animal sticker-by-number take-and-make kit will be available for adults and teens. Each kit includes one art page and correlating stickers to match. A hedgehog repurposed book take-and-make craft will also be available. Patrons will create their own bookish hedgehog using an old book and some simple craft supplies.
