Police arrest one after Findlay stabbing

A man was taken into custody and charged with felonious assault after another man was stabbed in the 2400 block of Jennifer Lane Monday night. The Findlay Police Department reported that William Burkhalter, 35, was taken into custody without incident at the scene following the 9:31 p.m. incident. He was incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center on a charge of felonious assualt, according to police. Police did not release the name of the 26-year-old white man who was stabbed. He was treated and transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital for a non-life-threatening injury. Also assisting at the scene were members of the Findlay Fire Department. The investigation is ongoing. Burkhalter was previously arrested in November 2019 after a stabbing at a Larkins Street residence. A Hancock County grand jury later charged him with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, in the stabbing. He also was charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. Judge Johnathan P. Starn sentenced him on Jan. 7 to 180 days in jail and five years of community control supervision for the incident. The jail sentence was suspended on the condition that Burkhalter comply with the terms of his community control and had no contact with the victim.
