Dewaine Richardson

Dewaine Richardson passed away on July 5, 2021. He was born on July 29, 1935, to Pearle (Lay) Richardson and Francis Richardson in Jellico, TN. He married Mary (Hildebrand) Richardson on April 22, 1965, and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2021. Surviving are a son Kevin D. (Betty) Richardson; daughters Kimberly D. (John) Beaman and Krisann D. Pardee; granddaughters Erin N. (Preston) Springer, Allison K. (Anthony) McGrath and Victoria L. (Shane) Crane; and grandsons Jayson M. (Johanna) Dupuis, Jesse D. (Amy) Richardson, Joshua D. Richardson, Jacob D. (Tara) Richardson and Zachary A. Beaman. Preceding him in death is a daughter Karla D. Richardson; grandson Matthew S. Stuard; and sisters Ruthann Broyles and Hattie Sue Ball. Dewaine was a member of Parkview Christian Church where he served as a greeter and an usher. He was a member of IBEW Local 245 where he worked as a Journeyman Lineman and retired after 35 years of service. Dewaine also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Free & Accepted Masonic Lodge 354, Forest, and Mt. Cory Lodge 418, a Shriner and the Scottish Rite. After retiring, he helped with transporting children to the Shriners Children Hospitals in Chicago and Cincinnati for their appointments. He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist and spent many hours cleaning and shining his 1969 FLH Harley riding it for the last time on his 80th birthday. Dewaine also restored several John Deere and Farmall tractors, antique autos including a 1928 Model A Ford Sedan, delighting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with many rides. Visitation will be held Friday, July 9, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home with the Masonic service being held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home with Pastor Brint Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with the Hancock County Veteran Memorial Squad providing graveside military honors.
