Annual Chamber golf outing to recognize Haywood

The Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual golf tournament at the Findlay Country Club on Aug. 23. John Haywood will be recognized as the honorary chairman during the event. "It is with great pleasure that we recognize John Haywood for his commitment to advancing our community, as well as his influence and guidance of the Alliance over the last decade," said Dionne Neubauer, Chamber director. Haywood has served as president and CEO of the Findlay-Hancock County Alliance since 2011. He began his relationship with the Chamber and economic development 20 years ago, serving on both advisory boards. Haywood previously retired as the Findlay Division vice president of Whirlpool with 24 years of service. Prior to Whirlpool, Haywood served as director of production and distribution for Hickory Farms. In addition to his work with The Alliance and Whirlpool, Haywood has been a key member of several service organizations, advisory boards and committees. He has served as a member of the University of Findlay Board of Trustees for 21 years, and has been a member of the UF Business Affairs Committee and the UF Athletic Committee, where he served as chair, and co-chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. Haywood has served on the 50 North board for nine years, including three years as president. He's also served on the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation Finance and Investment Committee for 20 years. Additionally, he's an active member of Findlay Rotary; served in the past as a United Way of Hancock County community chair; and was involved with the Northwest Ohio Flood Mitigation Partnership and Blanchard Valley Health System Board. Proceeds from the outing will be used to advance the Chamber's pro-business agenda through educational and leadership development programming.
