Arcadia UM ARCADIA — Arcadia United Methodist Church will hold its annual ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 14 at the church, 19397 County Road 216 (Brown Road). The event will feature homemade potato salad, noodles, pies and ice cream, along with shredded chicken sandwiches and sloppy joes. College First Lead Pastor the Rev. Brandon Kelly will speak Sunday as College First Church of God concludes the sermon series "Elisha: A Life of Unquestioning Faith." He will be sharing from 2 Kings 13:14-20 with the message "Giving God your Best Shot." In-person worship is at 9 and 11 a.m. in the main sanctuary (1100 N. Those listening in the parking lot should tune their radio to 100.1 FM. The Rev. Robert Cochran's sermon will be "Let them Eat Bread – The Mass," from the text John 6:35, 41-51. Special music will be provided by the senior choir. A noisy offering will be collected for a local charity. When inside the church building, face coverings are no longer required, but will be left up to each individual's preference. A taped service will be available on Sunday afternoon, and it can be viewed by going to www.1stLutheranChurch.org and clicking the "Aug. 8" video box. Access to the weekly bulletin and announcements are also on the site. Lutheran Social Services' requests for this month are toilet paper, dish soap and canned meat/fish. Items can be placed in the cart by the elevator. First Presbyterian First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., will hold services at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship is offered in person and on Facebook (@findlayfpc). After the service, everyone is invited to gather in the fellowship hall and learn more about migrant health fairs in Ohio and why it is important to support this ministry. The community dinner will be served dine-in only from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Great Room. The menu for this free event is walking tacos. Gospel Fellowship RAWSON — Russian-born conductor and pianist Eduard Zilberkant will perform during services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Gospel Fellowship Church, 5219 County Road 313, Rawson. Zilberkant has performed around the globe, in such halls as The Academy of Music and Curtis Hall in Philadelphia; Merkin Hall in New York City; Artur Rubinstein Hall and Warsaw Philharmonic Hall in Poland; Teatro di San Carlo Opera House in Naples, Italy; Teatro Sangiorgi in Catania, Sicily; Volgograd Opera House in Russia; Sitka Music Festival and Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage, among many more. He and his wife reside in Fairbanks, Alaska, and have a home in Ohio. Hancock County Camp The 121st annual Hancock County Camp meeting will be held Monday through Aug. 15 at Bible Methodist Church at AP Byal Park, 529 Stadium Drive. Services will begin at 7 p.m. daily. Missionary service will be held Thursday, with three missionary societies including Evangelistic Faith Missions, Kentucky Holiness Association and Holiness Pilgrim Missions. Dr. James Keaton will be the evangelist and the Richard Owens family will be in charge of music. Holy Family Radio Holy Family Radio will hold an 11-year anniversary dinner event, with a keynote address by Father John Riccardo, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ottawa Knights of Columbus Hall, 10750 Road H, Ottawa. A catered dinner will be served at 6:30, and the speaker program begins at 7. On Aug. 10, 2010, Holy Family Radio was the first Catholic radio station to go on the air in the Diocese of Toledo on WJTA 88.9FM in Glandorf. In 2018, Holy Family Radio expanded with a new signal in Findlay at 88.7FM. In April 2020, Holy Family acquired WONB 94.9FM from Ohio Northern University, changing the call letters to WOHA. More information is available at www.holyfamilyradio.fm Immanuel Lutheran Vicar Joseph Neuberger will be installed at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2300 Northridge Road. He is a student at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and will spend a year interning in Findlay. Immanuel continues to hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Lighthouse Pentecostal CAREY — Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, 888 County Highway 96, Carey, will distribute backpacks and school supplies from 1-6 p.m. Aug. 15 at the church. A church service and dedication ceremony will follow. Pandora, Gilboa UM PANDORA — The Pandora and Gilboa United Methodist churches will host outdoor worship and a free chicken dinner at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Bell/outdoor shelter house at Pandora Park. Attendees should bring a lawn chair and be prepared to listen to and sing old familiar songs and new, inspiring music. In case of rain, the event will be held at Pandora United Methodist Church. St. Andrew's UM St. Andrew's United Methodist Church offers worship in person, online at saumcfindlay.org and on its Facebook page, and on WFIN radio at 9 a.m., as well as in person and online at 11:15 a.m. The new sermon series is titled "Everlasting Life: Now and Forever," based on John 6. All are welcome to receive Holy Communion at either service, as the church will be using prepackaged elements for health and safety. St. Paul Lutheran JENERA — The Rev. Christian Dittmar will present the message during both Sunday services at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9340 Township Road 32, Jenera. Traditional worship begins at 9 a.m., followed by small-group studies for all ages at 10:15. Contemporary worship opens with praise songs at 11:15 a.m. Isaac Cowan, Noah Cowan, Jameson Krantz and Becca Ludwig will be confirmed during the 9 a.m. service. Holy Communion will be offered at both services. Trinity Lutheran Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 W. Bigelow Ave., will celebrate the 11th Sunday after Pentecost with special music, "Come to the Altar," sung by Belinda and Roger Ernst. The Rev. Will Stenke's sermon is titled "Olympic Faith: Strive for Second Place." Communion will be offered at both the 9 and 11 a.m. services. The early service will be streamed live via YouTube and Facebook (TrinityLutheran,Findlay,OH). Drive-thru communion is available at noon Sunday for anyone who is unable to attend in-person worship. The FLYT Team will host a food truck night in the parking lot starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The public is invited to bring your lawn chair or blanket and purchase their food from a local vendor. Main St., will host its second annual "Backpack Bash" from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. School-aged kids from preschool to high school are invited to attend and pick up backpacks stuffed with school supplies. The event is free and there is no need to pre-register. Wharton Church of God WHARTON — Wharton First Church of God, 108 S. Cass St., will hold its Back 2 School Blitz from 4-6:30 p.m. Sunday. The event provides backpacks filled with the items students need for school. The church will block off Sandusky Street in Wharton and offer bounce houses, games, free food and free haircuts for the kids.
