Rolfe Earl Babb

Rolfe Earl Babb, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green. He was born March 14, 1941, in Fostoria, to Jesse "Al" and Lillian (Sturgess) Babb. He married Kathy Cook Nov. 17, 1988, in Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by wife, Kathy Babb of Fostoria; daughter, Tracy Owen of Fostoria; three stepchildren, Jon (Lisa) Nalle of Fostoria, and Tricia (Ron) Wagner and Angela (Tim) Kimble, both of Arcadia; twin brother, Ralph Babb of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rolfe was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Babb; three brothers, Gene and Charles Reed, and Henry "Hank" Babb; and two sisters, Betty Ickes and Joan Filliater. Rolfe retired from Honeywell after 33 years of service. He also worked at Chrysler for 10 years, R & R Woodworking, and Buckeye Electronics recycling. He was a 1959 graduate of Fostoria High School. He loved and met with his classmates monthly. Rolfe was a U.S. Air Force veteran, proudly serving from 1960-1964. He was very patriotic and proudly wore his Air Force hat often. He loved talking to people and telling stories. He also attended Fostoria Redmen football games and loved his grandkids and family dogs. Rolfe's funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Ben Wallick officiating. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, with military honors performed by United Veterans of Fostoria. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, and one hour prior to the funeral Monday, both at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Bridge Hospice or United Veterans of Fostoria.
