Hope House a finalist for award; votes needed

Findlay Hope House for the Homeless has been selected as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist Top 200 finalist. Starting today, community members can help the agency win a $25,000 grant from State Farm. U.S. residents who are 18 and older with a valid email address can vote for their favorite cause at www.neighborhoodassist.com. Voting continues until Aug. 27. Anyone voting is allowed up to 10 votes per day. On Sept. 29, the top 40 vote-receiving causes will be announced and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to each of the affiliated nonprofits. Findlay Hope House for the Homeless focuses on rental assistance for individuals and families facing homelessness in the Findlay community. Grant money will also be used for eviction prevention. Hope House also offers transitional housing for women and children to assist them in moving from homelessness back to independent living. State Farm Neighborhood Assist is a crowd-sourced philanthropic initiative that empowers communities to identify issues in their neighborhoods. The State Farm review committee selected the top 200 finalists from 2,000 submissions.
