Veterans, seniors celebrated Wednesday at fair

Wednesday is Veterans Day at the Hancock County Fair. In a partnership between the fair and the Hancock County Veterans Service Office, veterans get into the fair free that day with identification such as a military ID, Veterans Affairs health ID, or a state veterans ID card. From 10 a.m.-7 p.m., veterans can celebrate fellowship with other veterans in the Old Mill Stream Centre, where veterans service organizations and the Hancock County Veterans Service Office will also have personnel available to answer questions. There will be entertainment on stage all day in the building. A $7 food coupon for vendors at the fair will be offered to the first 50 veterans who check in with the Hancock County Veterans Service Office booth. Free supper will be served while supplies last. A brief "welcome home" ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday is also Senior Citizens Day at the fair, and tickets are $3 per person for anyone 60 or older.
