Findlay tennis shuffles lineup, improves to 7-1

Findlay High girls tennis coach Sean Swisher shuffled his lineup a bit on Tuesday. The results, though, were the same as the Trojans dropped just two games in five matches in rolling to a 5-0 Three Rivers Athletic Conference win over Lima Senior. At No. 1 singles, Sydney Swisher upped her season record to 7-3 with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Lima Senior's Abby Beck. Tabitha Cap, in her fourth varsity match, and freshman Caitlin England, in her first, both posted 6-0, 6-0 wins. Cap defeated Virgo Lee at No. 2 singles and England beat Armani Mahome at No. 3. Mollie Quaid, usually Findlay's No. 2 singles player, teamed with Madison Barberree at No. 1 doubles for a 6-0 6-0 victory over Shivana Breaston and Ariana Allen. Seniors Sonoma Eynon and Izzy Miller took the court at No. 2 doubles and posted a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Nevaeh Sheeter and Cadance Richard. The outcome left Findlay 7-1 overall and 2-0 in TRAC matches. Knights sixth LEXINGTON – Claire Recker (40-45) and Ali Bishop (42-43) carded 85s and Joslyn Hunt (43-43) had an 86 in leading Van Buren's girls golf team to a sixth-place finish in the Lexington Elite tournament at Shawnee Crossings Golf Club. Maggie Wehrle (51-50) rounded out Van Buren's 357 total with a 101. Findlay tops Fremont FREMONT – Casey Tate carded a 45 and Abby Powell a 48 on Tuesday in leading Findlay High's girls golf team to a 195-235 win over Fremont Ross at the Fremont Country Club. Ava Metz, Libby Holman and Audrey Aldoy all shot 51s for the Trojans.
