God made a farmer And on the 8th day God made a farmer. A farmer is a person who owns or manages a farm. A farm is defined as an area of land and its buildings used for growing crops and rearing animals, typically under the control of one owner or manager. A farmer is not someone who leases or sells their land for solar panels. A farm is not a mega utility scale solar (farm). Agriculture is in my blood because my parents were raised on farms. I was raised on a farm and was active in 4-H for 10 years and vocational agriculture for four years. I married a farmer. I am now president of the local Arcadia FFA Alumni. Stop selling out our communities to solar companies. Buying into the gimmicks the solar companies tell you is not making you into a solar farmer. A true farmer would not lease or sell their land for solar energy. Hancock County, we need your support in saying no to South Branch and Border Basin Solar being proposed in Washington and Cass townships near Arcadia. The two proposed projects will be around a 1,000 acres each within a 2½ square mile radius. The panels are filled with harmful forever chemicals. Tiles will be cut causing more flooding. The energy will not be going to our community, but to Fostoria and then sold on the energy grid. Currently one in four children go hungry and solar companies want to take away more of our good productive farm land. I like to eat, and farmers produce the products so we can. You can buy more dirt, but can't make more of it. Loss of land will make farm ground more expensive for future young farmers, and food too. Good suitable locations for solar panels are large parking lots or large roof tops like the new Amazon Facility in Rossford. Promote wise land use, buy more dirt, put your agriculture roots down deep, and thank a farmer for your food. Say no to Border Basin and South Branch Solar. Rachelle Harmon Arcadia Continued spread of 'The Big Lie' Wayne Baldridge seems to have watched too much right wing propaganda over the last year. He has been brainwashed by Trump's incessant "Stop the Steal" lies. Never before has a national election been put under so much scrutiny, and no widespread fraud has been detected. Chris Krebs, the Trump appointee who was the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), said "the 2020 election was the most secure in US history." William Barr, a noted Trump ally, said no widespread election fraud has been found by federal authorities. Over 50 lawsuits filed by Trump and his allies were dismissed by state and federal courts, some by judges appointed by Trump. Despite numerous recounts and audits in different battleground states, no widespread fraud has been detected. The bogus "audit" being conducted in Arizona by Cyber Ninjas, an outfit run by a Trump zealot and QAnon nut with no election experience, was supposed to take 60 days. It started in April, the audit is still not completed. It has been a complete sham! Two recounts and an audit had already been completed by the state prior to the "fraudit", and no fraud was found. Despite all the scrutiny of the 2020 election, no fraud has been found, yet Trump continues to spread the Big Lie. And people like Wayne Baldridge continue to buy into the lies.
