UF celebrates homecoming weekend

The University of Findlay will celebrate homecoming and family weekend through Sunday. This year's theme is "Back in Orange & Black!" Due to COVID-19, all in-person attendees are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Capacity restrictions are in place for indoor venues, and registration has closed for many events. Today's highlights include: • Music Bach's Concert, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Alumni Memorial Union Atrium — A free concert by Tracy Silverman, also known as "the greatest living exponent of the electric violin." No registration is required. • Oiler Bash, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Koehler Fitness Center — Registration has closed, due to maximum capacity having been reached, but the event will conclude with a fireworks spectacular and marching band performance at 9 p.m. • Alpha Sig Reunion, 6-10 p.m., Drury Inn — University of Findlay Alpha Kappa Omega/Alpha Sigma Phi reunite in the Drury Lounge. • Seventh annual Pharmal, 7-11 p.m., Hilton Garden Inn — Pharmacy students and alumni are invited to an evening of dancing, hors d'oeuvres, a photo booth and cash bar. Saturday's highlights include: • Homecoming 5K run/walk, 7:15 a.m., check-in at Alumni Memorial Union with an 8 a.m. shotgun start — Cost to register is $10 for students, $20 for general public. • Mikahla Conrad tree dedication, 10:30 a.m., sensory garden (behind Japanese Program house) — The UF EHSS family will dedicate a tree planted in memory of Mikahla K. Conrad, a graduate of EHSS who died in September. • STEAM of Fortune, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., bell tower — Test your Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics knowledge for a chance to win prizes. An open house will follow at the new Joseph & Judith Conda STEAM Education Center. • Phi Delta Chi Toy Drive, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Center for Student Life & College of Business — Toy donations will be collected for a battle-of-the-colleges competition to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. • Oilers women's soccer versus Walsh, 3 p.m., DeHaven Field — The team's seniors will be recognized.• Findlay Oilers football versus Kentucky Wesleyan, 4 p.m., Donnell Stadium — The 2021 homecoming court will be announced, and the 2021 distinguished alumni honored. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
