Mary Louise Risner

Mary Louise Risner, 94, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky, with her family by her side. Mary was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Carey, to John and Lenora (Ruffing) Kessler. Mary was one of nine children. Her working career began at Porcelain Products, Carey. She put in seven years until marrying Milo Risner Dec. 13, 1952. After raising her two sons, she re-entered the working world as a nurse's aide at St. Francis Home, and later Daughters of America Home, both in Tiffin. Mary later began doing what she loved most, home interior restoration. She took great pride in wallpapering, painting, and especially refinishing woodwork in many homes around Tiffin. Mary was a woman of faith. She was a longtime member of All Saints Parish (formerly St. Boniface), New Riegel, and after moving to Tiffin in 1975, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin. After re-locating back to Carey in 2020, she again attended Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with her Carey family, where her faith was nurtured as a child. Mary is survived by two sons, Jim (Vickie Aldrich) Risner of Clyde and Kim (Peggy) Risner of Carey; five grandchildren that she dearly loved, Regina Risner, Jeremy (Christine) Risner, Jonathan Risner, Brady (Shiva) Risner, and Jacquelyn (James) Kissel; and three great-granddaughters, Lily and Yara Risner, and Riley Kissel. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milo on Dec. 16, 1977; and eight brothers and sisters. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. Tom Merrill, OFM Conv, officiating. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens, near Tiffin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W.
